Description of Itinerary:

Duration: 5 days/ 4 nights

Day 1: Samarkand - Panjakent - Seven lakes - Ruknobod village

Day 2: Ruknobod - Voru village - Ruknobod

Day 3: Ruknobod - Iskanderkul lake - Dushanbe

Day 4: Dushanbe - Khujand

Day 5: Khujand - Tashkent

 

Day 1: Samarkand - Ancient Sarazm - Panjakent - Ruknobod (220km; 7h drive in total)

Meet our Uzbek driver in your address in Samarkand at 9:00 and drive to Tajikistan border. Cross border walking to Tajikistan side. Meet our Tajik driver and start you journey towards Panjakent. In Panjakent stop to see Central Bazaar. 

Panjakent Bazaar: This bazaar has a beautiful central building ringed by brick archways. It’s a good place to stock up on trekking snacks like nuts and dried fruits, or get your first taste of Tajik hospitality.

After the bazaar sightseeing driving to Seven Lakes.

Seven Lakes (Haft Kul): 7 teary lakes

Seven small lakes make up the Haft Kul, “ lakes”, in northwest Tajikistan. Legend says they’re the tears of the daughters of a missing man. Science says they were created after earthquakes altered the Shing River’s course.Whichever version you prefer, the Haft Kul road is one of Tajikistan’s most accessible treks; the perfect introduction to Tajikistan’s natural beauty. Aside from the azure lakes, there are plenty of villages to wander through, with many kind locals happy invite travelers for tea.

Visit the first 6 lakes on car with stops at each lake.

Then slow walk/drive (you can decide to walk or drive this part of road) to final lake of Haft Kul: Hazor Chashma, thousand springs.The slope is gentle, the altitude low (the the lake is around 2,400 m/7870 ft).

Then driving Ruknobod village for overnight. Overnight in homestay. 

Day 2: Ruknobod - Voru village - Panjakent (80km; 3-4h drive in total)

Breakfast and then driving toward a quite strange place of the country, to the heart of the Fann Mountains! Now it is all about history, nature and people that speak quite different language and live totally strange (Stone Age village )This village located on the altitude more than 3000m above sea level . It's name is VORU. Voru is located on the right side of Yaghnob valley. Also the village is considered to be one of the most ancient villages not only in Tajikistan but also in Central Asia . But still the village is not excavated by scientists in depth. The main thing which amaze every visitors is the location of the houses . Voru differ from other village for his strange and various traditions and cultures. It seems like a grandiose multistorey in the heart of skyscraper mountains . It is one of that villages that here lives representative of Sogdian nationality, nation that were followers of Zoroaster(Prophet - called of Zoroastrian religion) . A village from Yagnob valley village ranges. Here just WOWW . Dinner in the guesthouse . After exploring the village drive back to Ruknobod for overnight. Overnight in homestay. 

Day 3: Ruknobod - Iskanderkul lake - Dushanbe (300km; 6h drive in total)

After breakfast earlier in the morning we will start our way toward the capital 9f Tajikistan with a stop in Iskanderkul lake. According to the legend, the Lake Iskanderkul was named after Alexander the Great, known as Iskander in the East. People say that Alexander the Great's path to India passed by this lake. After, you will stroll around the lake, exlore Zmeinoe (Snake) Lake, walk to 50m high waterfall that local people compare to Niagara and call Fanskaya Niagara (Niagara of Fann mountains)

Then continue driving toward the capital of Tajikistan. Dushanbe: a perfectly pleasant city. Arrival in Dushanbe. Check-in in your hotel. Overnight in hotel. 

Day 4: Dushanbe - Khujand (305km; 5h drive in total)

 After breakfast start city tour of Dushanbe. We have enough time to discover Dushanbe. Place that you will visit today:

  - Rudaki Park: The most beautiful park in Dushanbe is located next to the National Museum. Its tree-lined paths have everything from the Palais des Nations (where the president works) to eccentric things like the second tallest flagpole in the world. Visit the museum after visiting the museum, but be aware that the park really comes alive at night.

  - Navruz Palace: A royal palace that hasn't been seen anywhere else, with incredible decoration inside.

  - Mehrgon Bazaar: A large bazaar in the north of the city where you can buy everything from diced fresh carrots to stuffed dried dates.

  - Independence Square: a new park with a 124-meter tower. From the top of the tower you can see the whole city of Dushanbe and its surroundings. The park and the tower were built in honor of the 32nd anniversary of the Independence of Tajikistan. It is currently considered the most beautiful park in Tajikistan.

  - National Museum: The museum has several interesting collections that you will enjoy: some frescoes from Old Panjakent and the entire top floor with unique works by Tajik artists

After lunch continuing our trip towards second largest city in Tajikistan, Khujand. Arrival in Khujand. Check-in in your hotel. Overnight at hotel. 

Day 5: Khujand - Tashkent (70km; 3h drive in total)

After breakfast start sightseeing in Khujand that includes:

 - Republican Historical-Ethnographic Museum;

   - Timur Malik Fortress;

 - Archaeological Museum, Mosque and Madrasah of Sheikh Muslehiddin;

  - Panjshanbe Bazaar.

Affer lunch driving to the Uzbek-Tajik border crossing point of "Oybek". Cross the borde, meet our Uzbek driver and further transfer to your address in Tashkent. End of tour!
