The architectural monument of the Khavzi Sangin Mosque is located in the Khavzi Sangin quarter of the city of Istaravshan, Sughd region. The Khavzi Sangin Mosque was built in 1910 and got its name from the octagonal stone pool located in the courtyard. Khavzi Sangin Mosque is good for its clear composition and beautiful frieze painting. It consists of a 4-column winter room. Four carved columns divide the ceiling into 9 square plafonds. The central square is slightly recessed and has an 8-sided plank dome "khauzak". All planes of wooden structures and stalactite capitals are covered with paintings.
