Takhti Sangin (stone throne)

Takhti Sangin is located in the Kubodiyon district of the Khatlon region near the border with Afghanistan.

The history of the emergence of Takhti Sangin is connected with the construction of a whole series of fortresses built after the conquest of northern Bactria by Alexander the Great in 327 BC. In the ancient settlement there is a “Temple-Oksa” (the God of the river, on the bank of which it was built).
